    In the year 1872 a terrible frost and snow came on the district. The frost lasted eight weeks. A lot of birds and animals died with the cold. Also in 1895 there was a terrible snow storm in the district. The snow fell to a depth of three feet. It remained on the ground for a week. Several cows and sheep and horses were lost
