  1. The most marriages occur after Lent. People do not get married on Shrove. I never heard of any month or day to be unlucky for marriage. Matches are made in our district, but they are not very popular and mostly farmers make them or shop-keepers. Money is given as a fortune to the people. People not so long ago were married in houses. There is a wedding feast held after a marriage at the bride's house.
