    Put roasted potatoes in a stocking, and put the stocking round your neck when going to bed.
    nose bleeding
    put a key to your back, and lie on the flat of your back; chew a cork; put a cord round your two small fingers, and make it as tight as possible; put a small bit of brown paper under your tongue; put a wet cloth on your spine.
    head-ache
    a cup of strong tea; put a cloth soaked in vinegar round your forehead.
    sore-eyes
    Make the sign of the cross on them with a wedding ring; bathe them with cold tea.
    ear-ache
    wool wet with olive oil or whiskey; roast a small onion and put it into your ear.
    a marked face
    rub the liver of a cow or sheep to it.
    a chest cold
    turpentine; put butter or whiskey on a bit of brown paper and keep it up to your chest.
    a sprain
    Let Spring water flow on the sprained part; goose-grease.
