    cultivating, and there is also a good supply of turf in it. There was a very large wood there long ago but it was cut down during the Great War, but a few new plantations are being set there recently.
    There is a stream flowing through our land into Ballydehob. There is a lake at the top of the hill but it is not very big. It is called "Poll [?]" and it is supposed to be bottomless.
    P.S. It is said that a giant threw a stone from the top of Mount Gabriel, and that it fell in Rathravane. Mount Gabriel is 1339 feet high above sea level. It is not known how Mount Gabriel got its name.
