  1. When houses and distant hills look near it is a sign of rain. When the smoke is going up straight it is a sign of rain. When the wind is coming from the south it is a sign of rain. When the chimneys smoke it is a sign of rain. When the fog is going west on Mount Gabriel and Lether hill it is a sign of rain. When the sky is blue and starry and the stirs twinkling it is a sign of frost. When the walls of houses get damp it is also a sign of rain. Salt also gets damp before rain.
