  1. Long ago girls used to make hats out of rushes. When they had the rushes plucked they used to leave them quail. They used then trace them into plaits and then sew all the plaits together in the form of a hat. Mats were made out of straw and suidhsteens were also made out of straw.
    Girls at the present day string flowers together, and make necklaces and belts out of them. Belts are made out of toffee papers and also out of cigarette papers.
