When a piece of a rainbow called "Madra Gaoithe" is seen it is a sign of bad weather. When the sky is red in the evening and gray in the morning it is a sign of good weather. When the rooks are heard cawing in Coolagh wood the next day is supposed to be fine.
    When the rocks are seen shining it is a sign of rain. When the crickets are heard singing it is a sign of rain.
    When the seagulls are flying inland it is a sign of a storm.
