- There is a holy well in Cromogue dedicated to Saint Fintan. It is told that there was a fish seen in the well. One day a woman caught the fish in a bucket and brought it home. She put the water to boil but if it were there since it would not boil. The well went dry on the minute but she took back the fish and immediately all the water sprang up again. The same fish is in the well still and will be while the well exists.
