V You would travel through all Ireland Still you would never see A place to equal Furnace No matter where it be VI To look down on the Shannon Which enchants this townland And see its rippling waters Flow down below the land VII And see reflected in its surface The trees that proudly grow Along the shores of Furnace Where the River Shannon Flows.

   Not far from the village of Dromod
   There is a pretty townland
   Although its not exceedingly large
   I tell you it suits us grand
   II
   In Summer our townland is the prettiest
   And nicest for miles around
