  1. On the banks of the Shannon not far from the place where I reside. The castle was built in the year 1629.
    Squire Reynolds was the occupant and after about twenty years Cromwell came and knocked it down in the year 1650.
    It was said that Cromwell took many valuable things from it among which was an arm chair worth £90
    After that the Squire Reynolds family scattered through Ireland and there is some of them to be had still.
