    The old people never wore boots long ago only when they were going to Mass. The children go barefooted in summer and some of them go barefooted all the year round. Clogs are made in foreign countries. In the war in 1914 shoes got so dear the poorer people could not afford to buy them and they wore clogs instead. Some slippers are made of rabbit and sheep skin. It is said the water people wash their feet in should not be thrown out until everybody in the house was in.
