The townland of Knocknacreha is almost in the middle of the parish of Rathgormack.It is bounded by Rathgormack,Monadiha,Kilbrack and Carrowleigh and has an area of 117 acres.There are six houses in it including the barrack and the Old Schoo.There are over thirty people living in it and one of these is a carpenter.
There is only one thatched house in it ,the rest are all slate or zinc.There is no person over seventy years of age in the townland.
The townland gets its name from a tree which was used to hang people long ago and which still stands.Other things of historical interest in it are,the Old School where John Fleming taught and the house where he lived,the site of another old school and two lioses.
