Forts were first built by the Danes who used them to protect themselves from the wild animals.

Forts were first built by the Danes who used them to protect themselves from the wild animals. they are all built on hills so as to have a view of an approach-ing enemy. There is one entrance in the fort and it is to the side, the ring is made of nothing but clay and there are trees planted on the top of the ring.
It was never tilled because the people in olden times were afraid, some bad luck would befall them. It is also said that if you build a house in a fort you will never get it finished.
It was said the time the reservoir in Cornahilt was first started that it would not be finished on account of its being built in a fort. The workmen are not at it at present and they don't expect to be at it for a very long period.
