    rocks throughout the country. In Monaghanoose there is a rock on which Mass was said in the Penal days. Those rocks were called Mass rocks. Sometimes the English would swoop down on the people hearing Mass and kill the priest. This was very cruel on the people and the Irish speak with horror of those days. These Penal laws were binding on the people.
