'' Now or never after.'' '' The Fairy queen has left her curse on kitchen floor to rafter. Your cows will all be short of milk. Your crops will blighted be, For the queen has injured been. And we are her grand army.'' Then when they were going out they spilled the bucket of water and disappeared. The old man rose and made his way to the bedroom.
Here he found his wife crying, she told him the fairies had come into the room and cursed the Kelly family. When they were going away they sang : - '' Woe to maiden man or boy. Who would the fairy haunts destroy, Let them go by front or back.'' Just then as the dawn was coming they heard the loud baying of a pack of hounds. Three times the pack circled round the house and then disappeared. Exactly a year had passed and nothing happened until one morning in the summer, she told the old man to be careful as she had strange dreams the night before. That evening the old man came in from his work as usual and sat on the bench outside the door.
