- Long ago a fair used to be held in St Mullins once a year on the twenty fifth of July. One fair day a man came from Ross to the fair in St Mullins he had three cattle. When he reached the fair the man collecting the money asked him for one shilling to go into the fair and he said he would when he would sell the beef.
It was a very bad day and he did not sell the cattle and when he came the next year he had ten sheep and the man collecting the money asked him for two shillings and he said he would when he would sell the mutton.
He sold the sheep and he was going home when he met the man and he gave him two hearts of apples instead of the two shillings, and the(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
