- Once I heard a man tell a story, about a crock of gold. He dreamt it was buried under a large stone some distance from his house.
He dreamt that if he went at twelve o'clock at night, and dug and removed the stone the gold would be his. All this he told to a friend, and he stated next night to work.
He worked very hard for three hours and just as he was about to remove the crock of gold, his friend, as he thought, who had hidden himself nearby dressed like the devil with a pair of goat's horns, shouted:
"Begone you robber; that's mine."
So the digger took to his heels and his friend smiled and took the gold.- Collector
