  1. There is a hidden treasure in Dernamel, in Ballydaly, near Ferbane.
    The "good people" put it there.
    It was seen by two women out footing turf.
    One of them had brought her child to the bog, and had placed it beside a stook of turf, while she and her companion worked.
    They were working at turf and something took away the child. When they went to look at the child it was gone.
    They saw foot - steps and followed them until they came to an elder tree and they just saw the child being dragged down under the tree.
    Then they began to cry for the child, and all the neighbours came around them and dug a big hole. Under a flag they got a crock of gold.
    They took the flag home and no one could read the writing on it. One day a beggar came in for a
