- This is a story my Uncle told me about a Leipreachan. Longago in a local farm there was a man ploughing "lay-ground" in the neighbourhood of Proudstown. Coming on evening it began to rain and he pulled the horses over to the hedge for shelter. He was not long in shelter when a little red man was standing beside him. The man made a grab to catch the little man but he got away. He snapped his cap before he let him go. The little man began to cry for his cap and said he dared not go home to his people without it. The man held the cap in his hand and said that he would give him his cap if he told him where he'd get money. The little man agreed and brought him over to a mound in the field and he pulled back a big stone and there before his eyes was the full up of a crock of gold sovereign. The man would not take them away in the daylight in case the neighbours(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
