    rain. When we see wildbirds coming inland we expect hardship. The cat is beside the fire when it is going to rain. The dog eats grass when it is going to rain and the cattle eat up quickly and on a sunny day they are to be seen standing on the hills enjoying the sun. When the hills are looking near that is the sign of rain. When dust on roadways rises and whirls round that is the sign of rain. If the smoke is turning down that is the sign of rain. There was a great storm about the year 1892, thatch was blown off houses. Cattle and sheep were lost. Trees were uprooted. Portions of sheds were carried away and never were got again. There was a great snowfall in 1932. The snow covered some hedges. Some animals were lost in it.
