- The names of the potatoes are: - Champions, epicures, Garden - Fillers, British Queens, Kerr Pinks, Aran banners, Shamrocks, Aran Victors, and black Bulls.
Garden Fillers, epicures, and British queens are early - sown potatoes. All the rest are later varieties. There are potatoes grown in our farm. Some times people put an acre or two under potatoes. Some times people sow them in ridges or drills. They plough the land and cut the dykes for drills. They cut from scrapes and these they call ridges. They spread manure on top of these. They cut the potatoes in two and spread them on top(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
