The month of June was called " the red month of June".
Things were getting scarce on the farm. Corn was not ripe, new potatoes were nto in yet, everything was carce, bare or red.
Around here people used to try to have their potatoes in before the fair of Rathmolyon 19th of April.
Old people say that at Patrick's day the stone turns in the river. The cold side of the stone turns up to be heated. In other words the weather is changing.
