    1. Rays of light or streamers as they are called from the sun denote rain
    2. A circle round the moon denotes rain
    3. A rainbow in the morning denotes rain
    4. When curlews and seabirds fly inland rain is approaching.
    5. When dogs eat grass and hens pick their feathers rain is approaching.
    6. When a new moon is seen first on its back it is a sign of bad weather
    7. When the cat is seen scraping tables or chairs it is a sign of rain
    8. When the wind blows from Culmullen it is a sign of rain
    9. When the smoke is blown about as it ascends from the chimney it is a sign of storms
    10. When buses or other heavy vehicles can be heard distinctly in the distance it is a sign of storm
    11. When crows gather in flocks in the fields and the swallows fly low, and robins and other timid birds fly into the houses it is a sign of stormy weather.
    12. When chimneys smoke and the sky is red at night it is a sign of frost.
    13. When a fog seems to rise from the ground it is a sign of good weather.
