If the smoke goes up straight it is the sign of good weather, if it blows low it is the sign of rain.
When swallows fly low it denotes rain.
If cattle go in shelter when it begins to rain it is a sign that it will rain for a long time.
If pigs carry straw on their feet it is the sign of storm.
If the curlew gives a double call it denotes rain
If sea gulls or wild geese come inland it denotes storm.
