    A Story
In the Parish of Kilmihil and townland of Cahermurphy there is a place which is known as Caherhill. There are two small lakes at the north west of this great hill.On the top of the hill there is supposed to be a tunnel underground which leads to the lakes beneath .Around the mouth of the cave there is a mighty thick stone wall which resembles the ruins of an old monastery.According to the saying of the old people there is supposed to be a barrel of gold in the bottom of one of these small lakes with a chain which leads to the cave.A few years ago the neighbours came together and attempted to search for the gold in several places but their searches proved all in vain,so the mystery of the hidden treasure remains unsolved
