Co Tipp - In the year 1914 there was a frightful snow storm in this district.
A man named Patrick Clifford of "Glown" went out to Foilduff with butter. As he was returning home the snow began to fall heavily and soon it began to "blow" snow. He was not very sensible and he did not go in to any house.
Failing to go home he lay down in the snow and he got smothered during the night. He was lost for a fortnight and the Garda spent every day searching for him. Michael English of Keeper Hill was going to Killoscully one day and he found him. He then notified the Garda. He put a wooden cross where he was found.
