    was dead. My mother tells an amusing story - It appears a neighbour was dead, and my grandfather (RIP) was out in the yard. He heard the cry and called my grandmother (RIP) to come out to hear the Banshee. She came out but could hear nothing. They listened for a long time, and my Grandfather could hear the crying going round the house, where the woman was dead as plain as could be.
    Grandmother however could hear nothing. At first she thought he was making fun of her, but she soon discovered he was serious which made the thing more puzzling to him, that he could hear plainly and she could not.
    My other Grandfather (RIP) was on his way back to the fields from dinner one day and on his way past the "dark corner" he saw a woman sitting under a tree combing her hair. He wondered what on earth a woman would be doing that hour of day combing her hair. He glanced away and in
