  1. The nearest fair held in this district is in Cappamore. Cattle fairs are held on the 20th April, 1st July, 20th September, and the 12th December. The fairs used to be held in the Fairfield but now they are held on the streets.
Toll is paid on sold cattle, as they leave the fair. The place where the toll is paid is called the Custom Gap. The toll is paid to Mrs. Keating who is the Barroness of the fair.
