Three meals were generally taken every day in olden times. Breakfast, dinner, and supper. Breakfast was usually about seven o'clock. Dinner was taken about twelve o'clock and supper was taken about seven o'clock at night. People worked before breakfast, such work as milking cows, feeding pigs and calves. Up to fifty years ago potatoes were used at almost every meal. Skim milk was drunk with the Potatoes. People generally sat in the middle of the floor when eating their meals. This was about seventy years ago. Salt meat was often used, also fish especially herrings. People didn't eat late at night.
Griddle and barm bread were used about fifty years ago.
At Christmas and Easter, beef and meal were always eaten, also raisin bread was made.
A great amount of eggs were always eaten on Easter Sunday.
