    cut in the middle of it. Get two pieces of cord and tie them to the piece of leather by making holes on two sides of it. One piece of twine is longer than the other. The long piece is wound around the hand and the short piece is held between the thumb and first-finger, and this piece is left go when you want to fire a shot out of the sling.
