(ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)Coolbane - 13 of the Fitzgeralds, who ewre killed in the battle of Liscarroll were buried here in a lios (Lios na nGearód)"Joyce" - A band of robbers attacked Purcell's great house at Highfort. Purcell resisted and wounded several of them. The fled. One wounded robber named Joyce died, and his companions buried him on the side of the road just outside Liscarroll. Passersby used to throw a stone on the grave. The mound is still to be seen. "Singleton's Rock" - Situated in Knockardbane. Singleton was a native of [?]. He was convicted fo stealing sheep, and was hanged here about 100 years ago.
