- "Puss in the Corner" is often described as a playground game, but it makes a splendid indoor game so long as there is a big room, with little or no furniture. One player, who agrees to act as the puss out of a corner, stands in the middle of the room while the others each take possession of a corner.
The game begins by one of the players beckoning to another to change places at the same time calling, "puss, puss". While they are changing, Puss-out-of-a-corner makes a rush for one of the unoccupied corners. If she succeeds in getting to the corner first the player who is left out takes her place.
Much fun can be caused by the player making false starts; and to keep things moving it is a well to stipulate that no player shall remain in any one corner for more than a minute at a time.
