- Long ago the people used only eat two meals a day. In the morning, the people used to eat Indian meal porridge for their breakfast, and in the evening, they used to eat potatoes, and sour milk. During Christmas times, the people used to have meat. Meat was only eaten on very rare occasions. The people at that time also used to eat oaten- meal bread and rye bread. The colour of the rye bread was black.
When the people used to eat meat, it was salt beef and salt mutton, that they used to eat. They usen't eat any bacon, because they couldn't afford to kill any pig.
