    That night he came to the graveyard with a hammer. Just when he was going to strike he glanced up at his own house and saw that it was in flames.
    He immediately dropped the hammer and ran home. When he got there he found the house just as he had left it. He went back to the graveyard and the same thing happened.
    He came back to the graveyard a third time and just as he was going to stricke he saw his own house on fire. He said to himself that he would not be fooled a third time. He broke off the cross, and when he got to his home he found that it was burned to the ground.
