The following customs are very often practised in this district. People, when changing from one house to another always change on Fridays.
Toothaches are generally cured on Palm Sunday, by chewing three leaves of palm at the raising of "The Host".
Wednesday is considered the luckiest day for weddings. The following ryhme is very often used, when days for marriage are being chosen:-
"Monday for health,
Tuesday for wealth,
Wednesday the best day of all,
Thursday for crosses,
Friday for losses,
Saturday no day at all".
The months dedicated to the Blesssed Virgin Mary such as May, August and September are never chosen for weddings.
There is also an old superstition pertaining to cutting one's nails and it is still preserved in this district.
