Thomas Breen, Ballaghmore, Co. Tipp. states that there was a great storm 24th February 1892. Every road and lane was impassible. The snow was about 6 feet high. People had to go through fields and shovel their way to town. It lasted more than a month. It caused much damage to life and property. Mr. Rigney Ballaghmore went to Mountrath to pay his rent and on coming home the car turned over and he was found dead in the morning.
In the year 1903 a great storm arose which destroyed the place. The roof of Mr. Lambe's house was blown away. People's hay and straw were all swept away. Trees were knocked down.
