   STYE ON THE EYE
   Have someone whose father and mother are both living point nine thorns from a gooseberry, push at the eye. The ninth thorn is thrown over the right shoulder.
   Sore or inflamed eyes are helped by being bathed with cold tea or milk.

   WARTS
   1. Rub warts with a snail; then hang the snail on a bush; as the snail withers, the warts will fade.
   2. Water found accidentally in a hollowed stone is rubbed three times on the warts in memory of the Holy Trinity.
   3. Cut a potato in two, rub it on the warts and then bury it.

   WHOOPING COUGH
   Walk three times under a donkey.
   A person married to another of the same name has the cure; others say that the children of such a marriage have the cure.
   The sufferer must go to the house and ask for a piece of bread which he eats.
