- During the famine years a piper and his wife came to Corstown and they put up their tent there, but they could not get much food and they died of hunger. They are buried in the field where they died.
- Long ago when the people had no Clocks or watches there lived in Ballycallan a widow and her son. At that time there was no town in the county Kilkenny and the people had a long way to go to the nearest(continues on next page)
