to bow down to the statue before they would enter inside and they should say "Good landlord Daymount Morensy Pratt"
Daymount was not half as big a devil as his wife. She was an old minister's daughter. It was she who caused all the trouble. He was the landlord over Catstown, Mabbstown, Condonstown, and several other places and he broke half the courtry and the people said he was a roaring villain. Mr. Daymount then put up a Protestant school in Newmarket and brought all the Protestant children to it. Then the priest heard of the school and he built a Catholic school and brought all the Catholic children to it. Daymount put two men watching the Catholic children to bring them to the Protestant school. The names of these were Michael Holden, and Watt Walsh.
