  1. There is a Lis situated in the townland of Lisdungormal on the farm belonging to Peter McMahon. This farm is situated about five and a half miles from Castleblayney and about eight miles from Monaghan. This Lis is situated on the top of a big hill. This Lis is surrounded by a large number of bushes and Peter McMahon is afraid to cut them. From this Lis there is a path leading to a well at the foot of the hill and it is said that the fairies carried water from this well to the Lis. When Peter McMahon ploughs this path it is said that the fairies turn the score.
