On Xmas day a band of boys or men catch the wren and fix it on a decorated holly bush. On the following day St Stephens day they would dress up in disguise and form a into a band with musical instruments going around from house to house, singing dancing and playing old Irish airs, the most popular song was and is The Song of the Wren.
