- Once upon a time a man in Glencar saw a horse come out of Glencare Lake, and jump into his own field. He was surprised to see how big and strong he was, and he said to himself he would work the horse tomorrow as he had some ploughing to do.
When the next day came the man put the horse into a plough, and he worked well for two days, but at the end of that time the man brought him down to the lake to give him a drink, and before the man had time the horse jumped into the lake, and brought the poor man with him, and none of them were seen ever after.
