They're delightful it can't be denied
Round the home of my youth near sweet Sligo
On the banks of the fair mountain side
    IV
Oh its well I remember in Winter
To see the turf fire burn bright
The white-washed walls they would be shining
And the dresser would give you delight
And the neighbours would smoke and tell stories
I have often times laughed till I cried
At the fairy tales told in my dear home
On the banks of the dear mountain side
    V
Oh its well I remember those bowers
With school mates I oft times did play
In the days of my youth near sweet Sligo,
But they're nearly all gone far away
While some like myself love to travel
    To seek for existence denied
By tyrant laws that left us to roam
Far away from the dear mountain side.
