   On young and old I now make bold,
   I hope you will attend,
   While here in grief and sorrow,
   Those feeling lines I pen,
   Concerning a young clergyman
   His loss we do deplore
   Who by heretics was murdered
   Convenient to Dromore.

   It being on the twelfth of February,
   We mind that awful day,
   When to annoint a dying man,
   Our priest being called away,
   For little was his notion,
   To form such a plan,
   To take away the dearest life,
   Of our young clergyman.
   III
   Twas early the next morning,
   Young men being passing by,
   The blood being sprinkled on the road, They happened for to spy,
   They traced it to a lime - stone quarry And its there they did behold
   The body of our reverence was lying stiff and cold.
