  1. In olden times people nearly all depended on cures but at present they are dying away.
    For a sore throat people used to boil a pot of water and hold their heads over it and in this way they got cured. For a toothache use was made out of a "man creeper" to put your tongue on his breast and then put your tongue in the tooth and the toothache would be cured. The chin-cough was cured by using ferrets leavings.
    There is a cure for warts if you go to a holy well and pray the warts will go. Holy wells are fairly plentiful in the country there is one in Aughvas and another in Tullybraden near the town of Mohill and there is also one outside the town of Drumshanbo and Lossar well is its name people go to these wells once each year and get cured of their ailments. Another cure for warts is to get a black snail and
