Dear Father James a Christmas chime, Commingling prose and truthful rhyme, Recalling many a weird tale,
Told round the fires of Innisfail,
Of Giant's Cave and Holy Spring,
    Where Fairy Goblins nightly sing,
Sweet dreamy songs for Leprechauns, Who dance amid the Bouchalauns, Where Banshees decked in green and gold,
    Neach' Lunar's light carnival hold.
In a gorgeous valley called Tooma,
There dwelt a King called "Kick-em-pa"
Who long, long ago was surely born
    In Edensvill amid the corn.
Where a green fig leaf was the only dress,
The mantua makers had to press.
He rose one day in wrathful storm,
As the Goblins gathered in a swarm,
He issued them a dreadful ruling,
Banishing all fairy spirits to Annaugh-ma-Coolan.
Ah' how to reach that prison Isle,
Without a road, a bridge or stile.
