The ancient name of Kilmorna was known as Rivers Dale...

The ancient name of Kilmorna was known as Rivers Dale that was almost about three hundred and sixty years ago. It was then owned by Miss Kathleen O Connor and it was in her time that all the double fences were made and all the old oa that are still to be seen growing in the avenue now were planted. It passed from her then to the Guns or Gunsborough of Ratuagh. Kathleen OConnor had a sister named Eileen OConnor and both of them spent their fortunes building two churches.
Eileen O Connor spent her fortune in building the Athea Church and Kathleen O Connor spent her fortune in building the Murhur Church.
