the head of this path. There is a large hawthorn bush growing over the place and it is called 'Keans bush'.
There is another path going through the land of Patch from the eastern end of the village. It joins the main road at the eastern side of Thomas Brennan's house. It is used by people from Patch to Glenamaddy. It is said that a man was killed on the road to the eastern side of Michael Fahy's house. His name was harry ward of Patch. He was coming from a sale in Glenamaddy and he had a hatching hen in a pot. At that place the hen started to crow. She frightened the mule and he upset the cart and killed the man. People say that the hen was not a right one.
