- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)the places where these wells are situated. Most wells are called after St. Patrick. At one of these wells St. Patrick met two pagan girls and after preaching to them for several days he converted them, he baptised the, and heard their confession and they died instantly and on that same spot there is a well called after St. Patrick.
Several people have been cured at these wells. People know by looking into the well if their request will be granted. While kneeling at the well if little bubbles rise to the surface of the water they can be sure of getting their request.
At St. Patrick's well there is a large ash tree from which is hung a picture and a little box for collecting alms. In olden times it was the custom to hang little bits of ribbons on its branches as an offering. The parish priest takes charge of this box and keeps the money for offerings.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
