- A funny Story
There is a man in our district and he would tell you so much about buttermilk, that he could cure all sorts of diseases with it and that it was consumed in such large quantities long ago that the people now wouldn't be able to take it.
He says that the old people had it for cuts and burns and often it was used for beauty baths. (Conceited) [?] lassies used to wash their faces in it to make their skin silky and he says by all accounts it was more beneficial than the concoction that the women use now. Long ago it was easy knowing the man with rosy cheeks that he drank plenty of buttermilk and there were better [?] than the ones who get bread and tea at the present day.
